LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A few bucks and an eBay account can get you one of the most prestigious trophies in horse racing.
The 1978 Triple Crown trophy awarded to Affirmed trainer Laz Barrera is listed on the auction site with a starting bid of $500,000. Barrera died in 1991 and at some point after that his family sold it to a collector who has tried to sell it twice before, once though an auction house and once on the History Channel's Pawn Stars show.
The seller, who is only identified as "justdoit23", does not say how they got the trophy.
The listing on eBay describes the trophy as a "conversation piece" that belongs in a museum.
