Judge: Candidate Can't Use "Trump" Nickname on Ballot

FRANKFORT, Ky. -- A judge has ruled a candidate in Kentucky's primary elections can't use his "Trump" nickname on the ballot.

Carl Trump is a Republican candidate for secretary of state.

Democratic Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes refused to allow the "Trump" nickname, claiming the ballot was being manipulated for political gamesmanship.

Franklin Circuit Judge Thomas Wingate agreed, ruling that Carl Nett "lacks a legal right to use the politically advantageous nickname, and the secretary of state did not act arbitrarily in removing the nickname from the ballot."
