Rep. Yarmuth Suggests Outside Influence Stalls Border Deal Negotiations

(Louisville, KY) -  Representative John Yarmuth says if acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney were President, a border security agreement would already be made.

On ABC's This Week, the Kentucky Democrat said he believes a group of lawmakers invited to Camp David over the weekend by Mulvaney could have come to an agreement on border security "in less than a day" if Mulvaney was President.

He said the group had productive discussions about funding for border security while on the trip, but that outside factors prevent Congress from coming to an agreement.

Yarmuth blamed President Trump, the right-wing media, and left-wing organizations for making it harder to reach a compromise.
