LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A former Louisville Police officer has pleaded guilty to a federal charge involving the Explorers sex scandal.
Brandon Wood pleaded guilty to an attempted enticement charge.
According to a plea agreement, Wood attempted to entice a teenage boy to engage in sexual activity. Wood met the boy through the LMPD Explorers Program during a camp held in Bullitt County.
The U.S. attorney says the charge carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison.
Another former officer, Kenneth Betts, also pleaded guilty to federal charges in the case. Both Betts and Wood are facing sex abuse charges in state court.
