FBI: "Traveling Bandit" Bank Robber Captured

FRUITA, Colo. -- The FBI says it has captured a serial bank robber known as the "Traveling Bandit," and the suspect is from Kentucky.

49-year-old Jason Robinson, of Pikeville, is accused of robbing at least seven banks in six states within three weeks of each other.   The FBI says Robinson held up banks in Tennessee, Florida, North Carolina, Utah, Alabama and Illinois. 

Police say Robinson would present a note demanding money and threatening to have a weapon before fleeing with the cash on foot. 

The FBI says the suspected Traveling Bandit" was arrested without incident in Colorado.
