LONDON, Ky. -- A Republican state lawmaker will challenge Governor Bevin in this year's primary election.
Representative Robert Goforth announced his candidacy Tuesday..
A pharmacist from Laurel County, Goforth criticized Bevin as a being "molded by New England and Wall Street."
Goforth opposes abortion and expanded gambling. He's pre-filed a bill in this session that would further restrict abortions.
Governor Bevin has said he will seek re-election, but he has not yet filed the paperwork.
