Murder Rate in Louisville Declines in 2018

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The murder rate in Louisville dropped last year.  

Metro Police say they investigated 76 criminal homicides in 2018.    That compares to 102 in 2017.

The youngest victim last year was 17 years old.   The oldest was 69.

Police say they have made arrests in 37 of last year's killings.

Four deaths that happened last year are still under review by prosecutors.

The record for the number of murders in Louisville was 118 in 2016.
