Louisville Priest Who Abused Teens Dies

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A Louisville priest who sexually abused teenage boys has died.

Reverend James Schook died Saturday at the age of 71.

Schook was sent to prison in 2014 for molesting two teenage boys in the 1980's.   He was sentenced to 15 years, but received an early medical parole last year.

Schook was pastor of Saint Ignatius parish in Louisville when the accusations were first reported.    He was removed from ministry, but remained a priest.

In a statement, the Archdiocese says "In praying for the repose of his soul, we also pray for continued healing for his victims and for all victim survivors of childhood sexual abuse."
