LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A weekend traffic stop is now the subject of an LMPD internal investigation.
LMPD stopped 32 year old Jarrus Ransom at 26th and Broadway Sunday for a window tint violation when, according to arrest records, an officer poured out a Pepsi and three pills came out. A struggle ensued and police say Ransom crushed two of the pills before being detained.
Cell phone video of the incident has drawn public criticism and prompted Chief Steve Conrad to launch a Public Standards investigation.
Mayor Greg Fischer is asking the public to let the investigation run its course and for all the information to come out before coming to judgement. Fischer says once the PSU investigation is complete, the body camera video will be made public.
