LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- LG&E says last month's ice storm left them with a hefty repair bill.
The utility says the ice storm that left 153,000 customers in the dark, some for days, has cost them $12 million to recover from. LG&E and Kentucky Utilities only budgeted $13 million for storm recovery for all of 2018 and are currently trying to determine the best way to cover the expense.
The company says the ice brought down more than 2,600 lines in what was the biggest service disruption they've experienced since 2003.
