Tyra: Brohm Decision Not Based On Financials

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Louisville's Athletics Director says he's fine with Jeff Brohm's decision.

Vince Tyra was on the phone when he learned of Brohm's decision to stay at Purdue, a move he says was not unexpected because he didn't feel from his meetings that Brohm was "100% ready" to come to Louisville.

Tyra says the decision had nothing to do with financials and that he had the support of donors to get the deal done if it had reached that point.

As for whose next, he says the names he's reading in media reports are "fairly accurate" and says some new candidates reached out to him Wednesday night after Brohm's decision, telling him they didn't get involved earlier because they thought Brohm had the job locked up.

Tyra hopes to have a new coach hired by the end of next week.

The current rumored front-runner for the job is Appalachian State head coach Scott Satterfield.
