LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- An investigation is underway following a deadly officer-involved shooting in Louisville.
LMPD officers were called to a domestic disturbance in the 1100 block of Mary Dell Lane at 11:15 p.m. Wednesday. Upon arrival, Police Chief Steve Conrad says, "Officers ended up in a confrontation with a man where shots were exchanged. The man who fired shots at officers is deceased."Chief Conrad would not say what led up to the confrontation, only saying his information “is preliminary in nature and may change.”
The LMPD Public Integrity Unit is handling the investigation. Conrad says the officers involved will be placed on administrative leave while the investigation is completed. The department plans to hold a news conference Thursday to release the name of the suspect and officers involved.
