(Louisville, KY) - JCPS Superintendent Dr. Marty Pollio says he'll ask the district's board for more money for mental health professionals.
Pollio also says JCPS could get some help from a federal funding opportunity state officials have found.
The announcement was made Monday at the last meeting of the School Safety Working Group.
It's part of the district's plan to create a culture that sees teachers, staff and security build relationships with at-risk students, and refer them to support services to prevent disciplinary problems or violence.
