Renovated Colonial Gardens To Open In Spring 2019

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The project to restore a South End landmark is on track for a spring completion.

The Colonial Gardens restoration is on pace for a spring 2019 opening with four restaurants that developers say will be well known to the community.

Metro Public Works is also wrapping up $200,000 in infrastructure improvements at the intersection outside of Colonial Gardens that include new turn lanes, sidewalks and on-street parking.

Metro Councilman David Yates says the revitalization of Colonial Gardens will show the city the South End has arrived.

The $5 million renovation that started last fall is the first work on the property since it was abandoned in 2003.
