LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The Louisville Metro Planning Commission is giving the "OK" to a controversial golf range at Oxmoor Center.
The commission unanimously approved plans for a Topgolf, despite vocal objections from some residents of nearby Hurstbourne and Oxmoor Woods.
The vote follows two nights of public hearings.
The project calls for a golf range and entertainment center on the site of the vacant Sears store.
Opponents argued it would bring too much light, noise and traffic to the neighborhood.
The Topgolf project now goes to the Metro Council for a vote.
