LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The Mega Millions lottery has ballooned to the second largest jackpot in U.S. history.
Nobody matched all the numbers in Tuesday night's drawing -- meaning Friday's jackpot is worth an estimated $900 million. The only bigger payout in lottery history was a Powerball drawing of $1.5 billion in 2016.
One lucky player in Madisonville, Kentucky matched five of the six Mega Millions numbers and won $1 million.
Mega Millions is played in 44 states, including Kentucky, Indiana and Tennessee.
