GEORGETOWN, Ky. -- A Scott County, Kentucky sheriff's deputy is in critical but stable condition after being wounded during a shootout with a federal fugitive.
Deputy Jaime Morales was shot while trying to apprehend 57-year-old Edward Reynolds at a rest stop on Interstate 75 near Georgetown.
Reynolds was killed in the shootout. He was wanted for bank robbery in Sarasota, Florida.
Scott County Sheriff Tony Hampton says Morales is a two-year department veteran who served in the Marines.
