Officer Who Sued City, LMPD Has Resignation Offer Rejected

(Louisville, KY) - Mayor Fischer is refusing to accept the resignation of the LMPD lieutenant who sued the city and the department in a whistleblower lawsuit.

Jimmy Harper's lawyer says Harper offered to retire at the end of this month if some stipulations were met.

They included returning Harper to his previous rank of major, settling all court-related costs and attorney's fees, and being paid for and using comp and vacation time.

A jury awarded Harper 300-thousand dollars for the pay cut he took when he was demoted.
