(Louisville, KY) - Papa John is suing Papa John's. Founder John Schnatter Friday sued the pizza maker's board and CEO Steve Ritchie to stop the "irreparable harm" he claims they are doing to the company.
In late August, a special committee released a statement accusing the ousted Schnatter of making untrue statements and undermining the company.
The statement said the board specifically directed Schnatter not to talk about the NFL national anthem controversy on the company's 2017 third-quarter earnings call.
Schnatter ignored the directive and a couple of months later stepped down as CEO.
In July he left his chairman post after saying a racial slur during a conference call.
