Chinese Ambassador To Visit Kentucky Capital City

FRANKFORT, Ky. -- The Chinese are visiting Frankfort tonight.

Governor Bevin is hosting Chinese Ambassador Cui Tinakai at the Governor's Mansion tonight to discuss "economic development." The meeting comes as the U.S. and China fight a war of tariffs with the latest round of Chinese tariff on American made products affecting soy beans and whiskey along with some 540 other items. The visit also comes three days after Senator Mitch McConnell told supporters President Trump is taking a harder stance with the Chinese to level the playing field and make up for years of the Chinese "eating our lunch."

Tinakai has been the Chinese Ambassador to the U.S. since April of 2013.
