UofL Attracting Out-of-State Students

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Louisville says its incoming freshman class is large, diverse and has many out-of-state students.

Of the 2,800 incoming students, 22 percent are from outside Kentucky.    UofL says that's the highest percentage in school history.

15 percent of the class are African American and six percent Hispanic.

12 foreign countries are represented in the class.

First-generation college students make up 16 percent of the freshman class.   The average ACT score is 25.6, well above the state avarege of 20.    The average high school grade-point average is 3.6 on a 4.0 scale.

Almost three quarters of the freshmen will live on campus.

UofL's first-year students will begin arriving on campus August 15th.  Classes begin August 20th.
