Attempted Abduction in Norton Commons

LOUISVILLE, KY - Louisville Metro police are warning parents after two apparent abduction attempts at Norton Commons.

A mother told police that her 12-year-old daughter was walking the dog around 9 pm Tuesday night when a woman approached her, said “Your mother is busy and can't come pick you up." then told her to get into her vehicle.

Police say the woman, who appeared to be around 40 with long brown hair, was driving a newer model, small, black Lexus SUV with tinted windows.

The girl walked home and told her mother.  Officers found the vehicle but it sped away.

A similar incident was also reported on July 23 involving a man and a woman in the same vehicle.

Anyone with information about either incident should call police at 574-LMPD.
