LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A date has been set for the re-opening of the fire-damaged Kentucky Center for the Arts.
Officials announced that -- barring any unforeseen circumstances -- the center will reopen September 1st.
Smoke and water damaged the roof, ceiling, lobby and performance areas of the Kentucky Center last month. It forced the cancelation of a PNC Broadway Series show, and some productions were moved to other venues.
Although restoration work continues, major building systems are operating and all KCA staff are now back in their offices.
