Louisville Hosting Global Whiskey Summit

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Louisville is playing host to a whiskey summit next week as the world's eight leading whiskey associations gather to discuss trade and tariff issues.

Representatives from Ireland, Japan and Canada will be among those participating in the so-called "W8 Summit."

Kentucky Distillers' Association President Eric Gregory says there is a potential for long-term damage if the trade war between the U.S. and other countries escalates or continues to extend.

Bourbon has been hit with tariffs in retaliation for U.S.-imposed tariffs on imported goods such as steel and aluminum.
