LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- An inmate at the Louisville jail has died.
The Metro Corrections Department says a female inmate was found unresponsive in her cell Thursday morning. Jail medical staff started CPR on the woman, who was taken to University Hospital where she died.
The inmate was booked into jail in late March on felony theft and burglary charges.
Her death is being investigated by Metro Corrections and the Louisville Police Public Integrity Unit.
