LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A groundbreaking moment for professional soccer in Louisville as construction officially begins on a new stadium for City FC.

Mayor Fischer, Governor BEvin and other dignitaries turned the first shovels at the site in Butchertown.

With a view of the downtown skyline, the $65 million stadium will seat more than 11,000 and include 18 luxury suites and eight bars.

The stadium, which is part of a 40-acre development, is scheduled to open in 2020.
