Transparency Takes Center Stage In Mayoral Race

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The GOP mayoral candidate making strong accusations about what Mayor Greg Fischer is doing with public money.

Angela Leet says people should be concerned by the lack of transparency being provided by the Fischer administration, citing four recent incidents.

Leet, a current Metro Council member, says Fischer's redactions on the LMPD Explorer investigation along with increases in the cost of the investigation are troubling.

She also claims the administration had created secret committees that met to discuss projects like the proposed indoor track and field stadium in the West End.

Leet also called into question why the city won't release the Amazon bid incentives, saying the people deserved to know what was being offered.

She also expressed concern over Fischer's $110,000 Derby party list, asking if those on it were truly business prospects or donors paying for access. Fischer had previously shrugged that off, saying "Derby tickets are expensive."

A call to the Fischer campaign for comment on the allegations has not been returned.
