LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The first toll rate increase for the Ohio River Bridges Project is coming.]
On July 1, the toll rate will rise 2.5% to keep pace with inflation, a hike that was scheduled before the first toll was ever collected.
RiverLink spokeswoman Mindy Peterson says the hike was written into the business rules of the bi-state tolling authority and beginning with this July 1 the rates will automatically increase by 2.5% or the rate of inflation, whichever is higher.
The new pricing model means a trip across the Lincoln, Kennedy or East End Bridges will cost $2.05 with a transponder and $4.10 without in a passenger car. Truck rates will be $10.25 with a transponder and $12.30 without.
Peterson says there was no increase in 2017 since the tolls had been in place for less than a year.
