Chocolate Martini Takes The Road Less Traveled To The Kentucky Oaks

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- There's an intoxicatingly sweet story to the co-third choice in the Kentucky Oaks.

On February 3, Amanda Dabruzzo and Double Doors Racing claimed Chocolate Martini for $25,000, starting an unlikely trip to Churchill Downs.

Just two weeks after being claimed trainer Tom Amoss and Chocolate Martini put together back to back wins with the spot in the Oaks sealed with the win in the Fair Grounds Oaks Stakes in New Orleans in March.

Dabruzzo says they never expected to be at the Oaks this year and are especially enjoying being part of Amoss' Derby buzz with Lone Sailor.

Chocolate Martini will go off from the fourth gate with 12-1 morning line odds.
