Thousands of Kentucky teachers and their supporters protested against the state budget Bevin vetoed earlier in the week and pension reforms signed into law this week.
The teachers descended on the Capitol Friday asking the legislature to override Governor Bevin's vetoes of the budget and tax bills. Their wishes were granted after both chambers voted to override the vetoes Friday afternoon.
Many school districts across the Commonwealth cancelled classes, anticipating a huge turnout of teachers protesting at the Capitol.
