BARDTOWN, Ky. -- Hundreds of workers in central Kentucky will lose their jobs with the closure of a greeting card company.
American Greetings announced it will close its manufacturing facility in Bardstown by February of next year.
The plant opened in 1984 and currently employs 446 workers. At one time, it was one of the largest employers in Nelson County.
American Greetings says the decision to close the facility comes after an evaluation of the company's future production needs.
