Omni Louisville Preparing For Opening Day

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The rush is on to prep the newest addition to the Louisville skyline for its Tuesday opening.

Crews are spending the day going over every detail of the new Omni Hotel downtown, doing final punch list items and cleaning.

The 612 room hotel is expecting about 200 people on opening night and around a thousand this weekend when it hosts players and families in town for a basketball tournament.

The hotel is already sold out for Kentucky Derby week and will have its first full capacity weekend in two weeks when a city-wide convention comes to town.

The ceremonial ribbon cutting is set for Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the first guests set to arrive at 3.
