LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- They are adversaries in Washington, but will share the same stage in Louisville next week.
Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer has accepted an invitation from Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to speak at the University of Louisville on Monday.
Schumer confirmed the visit during a speech on the Senate floor, saying he and McConnell "can work together to get things done."
The event is part of the McConnell Center Distinguished Speaker Series. Tickets are available through the McConnell Center website on a first-come, first-served basis.
