LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Five months after picking Louisville, Google Fiber says its ready start accepting customers.
Google says sign-ups for the high-speed internet service starts in the Newburg, Portland and Strathmoor neighborhoods Wednesday with other areas to follow.
Mayor Greg Fischer says the focus of the launch was to provide the faster internet service to areas of Louisville that usually aren't first in line for new innovations.
Google Fiber says the next neighborhoods to get the service will be based on community response on their website.
