CLERMONT, Ky -- The next generation in the Jim Beam bourbon family releases his first product and it takes a different path than generations before. Freddie Noe, the 8th generation of the Beam family, is the creator of Little Book, the company's first limited release whiskey. The first release is Little Book-The Easy.
The blend is named Little Book, the name Freddie's grandfather, Master Distiller Booker Noe, gave him as a child and is a reminder to Freddie of the family tradition.
Little Book is a blend of bourbon, corn whiskey, rye whiskey, and malt whiskey. Each year the blend will vary. Beam Master Distiller Fred Noe, Freddie's father, says early on Freddie gave him two samples to see which he liked best. He chose the one Freddie liked. "I don't know what he would have done if I chose the other one, " said Fred Noe who is proud of his son's first Beam creation.
Freddie has been learning the distilling business for the past five years, and knows its a life-long learning project. Roughly 175 barrels of Little Book were bottled for its first release.
