Major Rehab Project Planned For Sherman Minton Bridge

LOUISVILLE, Ky.  --  A massive rehabilitaion project is being planned for the Sherman Minton Bridge.

The 80-million project includes replacing the bridge decks as well as painting, with the costs shared by Indiana and Kentucky.

Since a design has not yet been approved, it's not known how long it would take, nor if the bridge will have to be closed during construction.

The work, expected to begin around 2021, would add another 50 years onto the life of the bridge, which dates back to the early 1960s.
