Lexington Braces For Possible Racist Rally

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Lexington police are preparing for the potential of a neo-Nazi rally.

Police Chief Mark Barnard says no group has contacted him or the city but says he's aware of the internet chatter about a potential rally.

Matthew Heimbach, the chairman of the Traditionalist Worker Party, has told several media outlets that the group is considering a Lexington rally.

Knowing the potential rally could bring a large, emotionally charged crowd to town Barnard has contacted several federal agencies along with the Kentucky State Police and LMPD, all of which have offered their help if needed.

He says they spoke with the Charlottesville police to get tips on how to handle the groups that could come to town.
