Finger Pointing Not Helpful Says the Mayor

LOUISVILLE, Ky  --  Mayor Fischer steps forward to back his Chief of Police who faces a "no confidence" vote by a Metro Council committee.  After releasing statistics showing violent crime and overall crime down in the city, the mayor says crime is a community issue.

Fischer says the council's action is a distraction that isn't needed and pointing fingers at Chief Conrad won't solve the problem.  Metro Council's Public Safety is set to hear a resolution of no confidence in Chief Steve Conrad during its Wednesday afternoon meeting.
