Hospital Group Watching Healthcare Debate

LOUISVILLE, Ky  -- Many healthcare providers are keeping close tabs on what's happening in Washington, including the Kentucky Hospital Association.

KHA Senior Vice-President Nancy Galvagni says its impossible to predict what might ultimately come out of Congress because proposals seem to be offered then rejected quickly.  She says expansion of Medicaid under the ACA helped hospitals, but the KHA realizes the growth of Medicaid recipients from 180,000 in 2014 to 470,000 now is costly to the state.

The KHA does not believe a "repeal" bill of Obamacare will see it disappear immediately, but that healthcare providers will be given time to meet new guidelines.
