Jail Inmate Commits Suicide

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Louisville Metro Corrections officials say an inmate committed suicide in his jail cell.

33-year-old Larry Huddleston was booked into jail early Thursday morning on felony drug charges.

A Corrections Department statement says Huddleston was in a single cell on the booking floor when he hung himself with a shoe lace.  Huddleston was taken to University of Louisville Hospital, where he was pronounced dead Thursday night.

The Louisville Metro Police Public Integrity Unit is investigating the death, and the Metro Corrections Professional Standards Unit is conducting a review of the case.
