FRANKFORT, Ky. - The state of Kentucky needs your help with the record number of kids in foster care.
Citizen Foster Care Review Boards are seeking volunteers in 71 Kentucky counties to review foster care cases.
Volunteers work with the Cabinet for Health and Family Services and the courts to review files on children in out-of-home care.
Volunteers conducted nearly 21,000 reviews of more than 11,300 cases in fiscal year 2016.
Those interested do not need to live in a county in need but must complete a six-hour training session and consent to background checks.
