A Murder Plot Ends With Charges For An Elizabethtown Woman

Elizabethtown, KY  --  Elizabethtown Police arrest a 27-year-old woman for the attempted murder of an employee at her group home.

Police say that Melissa Emerick broke into a medicine cabinet at Community Alternatives of Kentucky and admitted to putting some of the drugs in the Pepsi bottle of a supervisor.  Her plan was to wait until the supervisor passed out, then stab her to death. Police found medication and a pair of scissors hidden under Emerick's pillow.

Emerick's goal was to meet up with an unidentified male at an unknown location.

She is also accused of plotting to set the house on fire before leaving.
