LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The reporter exchanging emails with a fugitive lawyer says the story isn't over yet.
The Lexington Herald-Leader's Bill Estep says he believes there are "50 or 60 countries" Eric Conn could be hiding in after skipping out on his federal house arrest.
Estep says before Conn was a fugitive he was a frequent traveler to nations in the Caribbean and to Belize, which does not have an extradition agreement with the United States.
He says Conn likes attention and the ability to control the story and believes that’s why he sent the emails.
Estep says Conn says he won't come back to the U.S. but has left the ending of the story open, indicating he may have a change of heart.
