LOUISVILLE, Ky -- A book on rum where bourbon is king? It hits book stores on Thursday. Author Fred Minnick, whose previous works have focused on bourbon, now tells the story of a beverage tied to pirates and beach vacations, rum. His hope is that Rum Curious will help change opinions and give rum some of the respect it deserves as a distilled spirit.
Rum Curious takes a look at the history and production of rum, but it also offers a tasting guide and suggested rum cocktail recipes. Minnick, a bourbon aficionado, also has a love for aged rum and wanted to share that love with readers.
