LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Governor Bevin says Monday's shooting further affirms the need for a community conversation about stopping the violence.
Calling the shooting death of Anton Brown a random act of violence and unacceptable, Bevin says it also shows the need to develop a plan to curb the violence.
Bevin says calling it a gun problem is "missing the point", instead calling it a cultural problem.
Bevin is set to meet with community and religious leaders Thursday morning in the West End, including the mother of seven year old Dequante Hobbs who held a press conference to ask for a seat at the table.
Bevin says Micheshia Norment had been invited prior to the press conference and says it’s wrong to try to politicize Hobbs' death for TV time.
