LOUISVILLE, Ky -- Two names will be added to the Patriots Peace Memorial on Monday. The annual Memorial Day ceremony will be held at noon (rain or shine) at the memorial located on River Road between Zorn and Indian Hills Trail...across from Cox Park
One man being enshrined is Navy Lt. Commander Andrew "Drew" Hilliard who died of cancer in June 2015. The Anchorage man was a Manual High School and the U-S Naval Academy. The other veteran is Specialist 4 Donnie Paul McKinney of Marion, KY. The Kentucky National Guard member died in July 1986 when he was struck by lightning while in a field firing exercise at Ft. Campbell.
The Patriots Peace Memorial is dedicated to service members who do NOT die in the line of duty.
