Paul Supports Comey Firing

WASHINGTON -- In the wake of the firing of FBI Director James Comey, Kentucky's junior U-S senator doesn't understand what all the fuss is about.

Appearing on "CBS This Morning", republican Rand Paul says he doesn't think there's ever been an FBI Director that both parties were so unhappy with and wanted to see gone.

Paul says, "both sides really had lost confidence" in Comey, and "that's why he's gone."

As for the timing of the firing, Paul says it's normal for a personnel review to take place beforehand, and that takes time.
