LOUISVILLE, Ky. - More than two dozen dogs are being cared for after their owner was found dead in her LaRue County home.
One of the dogs was in especially bad shape. Melvin was among 30 dogs found living in horrific conditions in Elizabethtown.
The dog, a chihuahua mix, was brought to Blue Pearl Animal Hospital in Louisville where he's being cared for by the Arrow Fund a non-profit group which helps animals suffering from abuse or neglect.
Officials with The Arrow Fund say it could take up to 30 days for Melvin to start gaining weight.
Donations can be made at TheArrowFund.org.
The woman's death remains under investigation.
