Downtown Bourbon District Unveiled

LOUISVILLE, Ky  --  Paying homage to Kentucky's signature industry, bourbon, through a downtown bourbon district.   The 1st phase of downtown's Bourbon District is in place as banners and an historical marker are in place.

Mayor Greg Fischer says as bourbon distilleries help fuel downtown tourism, the city is now hoping to use the new designation to boost interest in all things bourbon.  There are four open distilleries downtown and three more are in the works.  

When complete, the Bourbon District will concentrate along Main Street from Jackson Street to 10th, then along Fourth Street between Main and Broadway.
