LMPD Makes Arrest In One Of Four Overnight Homicides

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- LMPD gets an arrest in one of the four overnight homicides.

Jason Tomes has been arrested for shooting a woman in a shed in PRP in what police are calling an impulse shooting. Homicide Lt. Emily McKinley says Tomes confession was "disturbing" and "cold" and that he trashed the interview room in the process.

McKinley says they are actively following leads in the fatal shooting of a man in a car in Lake Dreamland and a double shooting at an apartment complex in the Beechmont neighborhood.

Louisville has recorded 34 homicides for the year, ahead of the 28 at the same time last year.
